1920's - percy smith & gladys felton

1940's - horace martin & veronica brandon

From Dennis Boreham: Horace was my mother's cousin. His parents were Rose and Bill Martin,and I think they lived in Evergreen Lane, Great Bradley. They also had a daughter Edie who married a Frank Brett and lived at Carlton and later Horseheath. Unfortunately, I do not have a date for the wedding - possibly the 1940's.

From Karen Kelly: Horrie & Ann Martin were friends with our late parents - Yvonne & Maurice Goody [see below]. I can remember as a child going with Mum & Dad to visit them. I think their daughter was called Valerie. They moved to Sawbridgeworth after leaving Gt Bradley. I think there son was Tim (Timothy) but not 100% sure. We remember going to one of their parties & Ann's brother was there & we thought it was so exciting because he was married to Cliff Richards sister & she was at the party too !!

1954 - Maurice goody & yvonne

From Sarah Felton: My lovely Mum and Dad, Yvonne and Maurice Goody on their wedding day, 10th July 1954, taken at the north door of the church. Mark and I got married 40 years later in 1994 [see below]. Both my sisters got married at the church as well.

1959 - ronald Surridge & Monica

From Rosalind Barber:
This is my mum and dad, Ronald and Monica Surridge, on their wedding day, 26th September 1959. They were the first newlyweds to come out of the church using the south door [the one with the brick porch]. Everyone before them had to come out the north door [facing the road]

1968 - Graham BALLS and Liz oliver

Liz was married in St Mary's as was her brother [below]

1974 - paul coote & gill hearn

Paul's sister, Liz, was married in the church six years previously [see above]

1994 - mark fleton and sarah goody

The Felton and Goody families have strong connections to the village over a number of generations [see above]. Mark & Sarah's wedding took place on 11th June 1994.
In 2018, Mark had a tattoo on his arm to commemorate this day. It shows the church and a clock showing 2.30; the time that he and Sarah were married.

2010 Jonathan durrant & Lorraine

There are a nuber of pictures of Jonathan from the 1977 Silver Jubilee Celebrations and his mother Carol was the first person to make a comment on the village Facebook page in 2015

The vicar in this picture is John Eley, who was quite famous on TV in the 1980s and known as the Cooking Canon

2013 martin lovell and lisa passfield

Lisa and Martin married in St. Mary's church on 23rd February 2013 and they are the last name to appear in the old church record book

2013 Charlie STEVENSON & mEG RYDER

Meg Ryder and Charlie Stevenson were married at St Mary’s on 19th April 2013. The wedding had a Suffolk theme, from the music to the decorations. The weather was perfect, and the church bells, which had been re-hung for the occasion, rang out true and clear.

IAIN PERCIVAL & JOANNA ELIZABETH

Iain and Joanna were due to get married in 2020, but restrictions due to the Covid pandemic meant that it was postponed. Sunflower seeds, that they had got for the wedding, were offered to villagers for a Sunflower growing competition.

Iain said, after the wedding "We would like to thank everyone in our most amazing village for their contribution that made our day incredible. Ken and Sue, you were wonderful. Keith, the bells rang true. The dog peeps, as ever, you are amazing. We truly loved sharing our day with you all. THANKYOU!
