POND HOUSE, formerly THATCHED COTTAGE
With 5 acres of land Pond House had one of the largest plots in the village. It is named after the former village pond which is now within the grounds of the house. The pond is fed from the ditch which runs along the bottom of the recreation ground, which is in turn fed from the field drains under the recreation ground. The pond used to be fed by a stream linked to another village pond which has now disppeared under Clarendale. The house has been extensively extended but still retains much of the Edwardian features.
In 2016 Bed & Breakfast accommodation was being offered.
In 2017 land was sold off for the building of Bradley House, so that both properties have access to the pond.
